When Alexander Pope wrote those lines some 300 years ago, he seemed to be speaking of the wonderment of childhood. That all improbable things are possible, such as treading in air or dolls coming to life. It is the collectors of antique dolls in which that sense of wonder lives on. A painted face jester performs impossible feats of balance with two chairs, a Vichy pianist magically flits her fingers over the keys and an extraordinary collection of French dolls bear witness to the fact that one can, indeed, tread on air. 8.5" x 11". Softbound. 124 full-color pages.
