18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: S 10 H 939. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1885. Value Points: endearing shy expression, fine quality of bisque and painting, original body and body finish on the early closed mouth doll.
