4 1/2" (11 cm.) The firm-sided stationery box with slant lid has embossed red paper cover with gilt lettering "Papeterie" and hinges open to reveal a well-fitted interior with various stationery articles, and various bone-handled desk articles. Very good condition, light play wear. French, circa 1875.
