22" (56 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, impressed dimples at philtrum and lip corners, separately modeled pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden body with straight wrists, lovely antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, original body and body finish. Marks: 9 X (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1882. Value Points: rare signed E.J. shoes, rarely found early model with finest bisque and painting, entrancing gentle expression.
