Description
Of a tightly-woven fine wool in an intricate plaid pattern, the dress features a slightly-high waist and fitted bodice which gains some fullness from the gathers at the center waist and knife pleats at the back bodice, coat sleeves with very wide upturned cuffs, set-in waist band which forms into long streamers at the back which are trimmed with very narrow silk covered ribbons, and all-around box pleats, The dress is trimmed with self-piping at the neckline and shoulders, and black velvet at the cuffs and streamers, and has black velvet covered buttons and loops. To fit 18"-19" lady doll. 4" shoulder width, 10" waist, 15" overall length. Circa 1860.
