19" (48 cm.) A bisque-head girl with blue glass paperweight eyes, lushly-painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, shaded lips, six porcelain teeth, pierced ears, brunette human hair wig, cork pate, carton torso and legs, hinged right hip, bisque forearms is posed seated on a high stool holding a hoop in one hand and a fleecy white pup in the other. When wound, music plays, she nods her head side to side and forward, taps her right foot against the stool, and lifts her arms as the pup tries to jump through the hoop. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism and music function well. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau 4 (and artist checkmarks, on head). Comments: Vichy, circa 1890. Value Points: rare automaton with especially captivating theme, the girl is wearing her original gold silk circus costume with hand-painted scenes of dancing animals.
