Description
24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with very full lips, blonde mohair wig over plaster pate, composition and wooden fully-jointed early body with plump limbs and straight wrists, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 15. Comments: Kestner, circa 1885. Value Points: sought-after closed mouth child has fine luminous bisque, enhancing decorative glaze on lips, original wig, pate, early body and body finish.
