Description
22" (56 cm.) Each has bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, painted lashes and brows, (she with mohair lashes, also), accented nostrils, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden fully-jointed body (she with lady-shaped body including modeled bosom and shapely waist). Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 10 (man); 1159 Germany Simon & Halbig 7 S&H (she, and with signed Handwerck body). Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1900. Value Points: superbly-preserved, and each wearing fine antique costume portraying fashionably-dressed couple of the Edwardian era, her hair arranged in up-swept coiffure and wearing ivory satin gown accented with tiny beads and seed pearls, matching beaded shoes, gloves, and ivory satin wooden-handled parasol; and he with formal evening garb with matching greatcoat accented with silk floral boutonniere.
