Description
6 1/2" (17 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque two-piece torso with kid-edged swivel waist, brown glass sleep eyes, delicately-painted lashes and arched brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde mohair wig over plaster pate, pin-jointed bisque arms and legs, modeled cupped and folded fingers, painted white above-the-knee stockings with scalloped edge and black ankle boots. Condition: generally excellent, flake at rim of left side leg, Marks: 1 (head and torso). Comments: Kestner, circa 1880. Value Points: rarity factors of the doll include swivel waist, fancy stockings, beautiful sculpting and bisque, and original wig and pate.
