21" (53 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead of adult lady with heart-shaped face and elongated throat, brown sculpted hair with a mass of tiny ringlet curls at her forehead, forming into large looped curls at the back of head, accented with pink Dresden bows at her crown and behind each pierced ear, blue glass eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, fancy ruffled Dresden collar with beaded edging above a painted rose bodice, muslin stitch-jointed body, kid arms, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, small missing piece on ribbon at crown. Comments: Germany, circa 1871, pencil inscription on the inside of head reads "bought Christmas Dec. 25 year 1871 for Adelina Meyer, aged 6 years". The doll was featured in the book, China, Parian & Bisque German Dolls by Lydia Richter. Value Points: rarity factors include brown hair, glass eyes, Dresden ornamentation and provenance.
