15" (38 cm.) All-cloth doll with swivel head, pressed and painted facial features, blue side-glancing eyes, real lashes, painted side lashes, closed mouth with ruby-red lips, blonde stitched-down yarn hair with original hair band, stitch-jointing at shoulders and legs allowing easy seated pose. She is wearing original blue and white window-pane-pattern dress with attached panties, white organdy collar, white organdy apron, white socks, white lace shoes with buckle trim. The costume has original cloth label "Original Alice in Wonderland/Trademark US Pat. Off/Madame Alexander NY". Near mint condition. Madame Alexander, 1933, the doll was advertised by Gimbel's department store in 1934 as their "most popular doll", selling at $1.50.
