4 1/2" (11 cm.) One piece all-bisque classic standing Kewpie with loop-jointed arms, starfish-shaped hands and sculpted blue wings, unique painting of hair and facial features to suggest an Asian child, black hair with topknot, black painted side-glancing eyes, impish smile. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1915, a costume and painting adaption of original Kewpie doll. Value Points: unique work has distinctive painting of hair and features and is wearing original silk costume and headdress.
