12" (30 cm.) Terra cotta shoulderhead of adult woman with heart-shaped face, elongated throat, modeled bosom, her head tilted slightly, sculpted brown hair with deeply-combmarked detail drawn back into a loosely-captured chignon with cascading tendril onto back neck, heavy eyelids, downcast enamel brown eyes, gentle smile on closed mouth, blushed cheeks, linen-wrapped armature body with carved wooden hands and feet, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Neopolitan, early 1800s. Value Points: beguiling expression, expressively-poised fingers, original finish is well-preserved.
