21" (53 cm.) Bisque swivel head on bisque shoulderplate, blue glass paperweight eyes with darker blue outer rims, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, carton torso, wire upper arms, metal hands, on original metal platform with hidden wheels at the underside. When wound, the lady glides forward and around, turning her head, and alternately fanning herself and lifting the lorgnette. Condition: generally excellent, functions well. Marks: 4. Comments: Gustav Vichy, circa 1880. Value Points: rare luxury automaton, with original lavish silk costume and accessories, functions beautifully, original paper tune label on the underside listing two waltzes.
