16" (41 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose-blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, pierced ears, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, kid bebe body with gusset-jointing at hips, knees and elbows, bisque lower arms with well-shaped cupped fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F 6 G. (block letters). Comments: Gaultier, circa 1882, early kid-bodied version of the firm's bebe. Value Points: the rare-bodied bebe has especially gentle expression, rare bisque hands, wearing beautiful antique ivory silk twill gown and matching cap.
