Description
21" (53 cm.) x 20". Engraved map of France having ochre ground with black lettering and design is mounted on board in puzzle pieces, and preserved in original wooden box with interior label for Ch. Piquet, official cartographer for the King and Duc du Orleans, and with ink inscription that the puzzle was prepared under commission for Monsieur Monnier in 1840. Excellent condition with some wood warping and two small edges of a piece missing. Rare and fascinating map.
