Description
Of natural bengaline silk, the square-shaped low-neckline gown has a fitted bodice, unusual pagoda-shaped sleeves with wide slits, hook and loop closures at the back, full skirt with variant width of the box pleats that gives a strong shape to the gown, three tiers of ruffles at the lower half of the skirt. The gown is trimmed with black velvet ribbons that edge the neckline, sleeves, waist, and skirt ruffles, and with black velvet bows at the shoulders and waist. Along with white cotton chemisette with attached sleeves with embroidered cuffs. For 17" lady doll. 5" shoulders. 8" waist. 13" overall length. Circa 1865.
