24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, lushly-painted lashes, thick brush-stroked brows with fringed detail, rose-blushed eye shadow, shaded nostrils, open mouth with shaded and outlined lips, row of sculpted teeth, pierced ears, auburn mohair wig over cork pate, French composition fully-jointed body with clockwork mechanism in the torso that allows the doll to "walk" and "cry" when wound. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism works. Marks: J. Steiner Bte SGDG Paris Fre A 15. Comments: Jules Steiner, his model of "Bebe Petit Pas", deposed in 1890. Value Points: an especially beautiful facial model with richly painted features on the excellent bisque, original body and body finish, working mechanism, lovely silk costume and bonnet, undergarments, stockings, leather boots with rosettes marked L.I.
