Description
12" x 10" box. 6 1/2" doll. Presented in a cardboard box with lithographed paper cover is a small bisque doll with blue glass eyes, open mouth, painted features, blonde mohair wig, composition body with painted socks and laced black shoes, centered by a selection of fabric samples, buttons, threads, trims, and various sewing tools. On the inside lid is an envelope labeled "Schnittmuster" containing patterns for doll costumes. Condition: generally excellent, slight roughness of exterior of box. Marks: (sunburst mark) 44-17 Germany. Comments: Germany, circa 1900, the presentation set was made for both German and English-speaking markets. Value Points: fine unplayed with preservation of the teaching tool doll set.
