18" (46 cm.) (excluding hat). Standing upon a wooden base with green brocade velvet cover is a bisque-head doll with blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted curly lashes, rose-blushed eye shadow, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair fleecy wig over cork pate, French carton torso with classic highly-defined front and back Polichinelle humps, wire upper arms, bisque forearms. When wound, the doll tilts her head side to side while clanging the brass cymbals she holds, and music plays. Condition: generally excellent, music and motion function well. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau 4 (head) (original paper label on base with pencil note of musical tune "La Mascotte"). Comments: Leopold Lambert, circa 1890. Value Points: charming automaton with classic French theme, is wearing her original silk Polichinelle costume in gold and red with metallic trim, matching shoes and Marquis hat.
