Description
15" (38 cm.) Composition head with flanged neck, brown sculpted curly hair, brown sleep eyes, real lashes, dark eyeshadow, closed mouth with bow-shaped lips, pink cloth body, composition hands and lower legs. The baby is dressed in original organdy dress over pink cotton underdress, matching bonnet with tulle ruffles around the face, rose silk ribbons, socks, cream ankle boots. The dress has original cloth label "Little Genius/Madame Alexander NY USA/All Rights Reserved". Near mint condition. Madame Alexander, 1939, the doll is presented in its original white box with illustrations on the label, stamped "Little Genius" and "451W". A nearly identical doll appeared in the June 1940 Playthings Magazine ad of Madame Alexander.
