9" (23 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead with brown sculpted hair drawn loosely back, captured under a painted green snood and crowned with a carved wooden diadem, enamel eyes, aquiline nose, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden arms and legs, wearing original silk burgundy gown with metallic trim, and carrying silver basket and silver coffer with hinged lid. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, early 1700s, rare sculpted snood and diadem.
