20" (51 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, almond-shaped blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth in tentative smiling expression, pale accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, all-wooden fully-articulated body with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles, ball-swivel waist. Condition: generally excellent, old retouch on body finish. Marks: G (head and shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, the smiling face model was deposed by the firm in 1872. Value Points: most elegant lady with lovely bisque, gentle refined expression, original fully-articulated wooden body, fabulous antique costume of gold silk with black lace trim, fancy bonnet, beaded purse, parasol, undergarments, stockings, fancy shoes.
