Description
14" (36 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, large blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, ears pierced into head, kid poupee body with gusset jointing at hips and knees. Condition: V-shape piece reglue behind the left ear, otherwise excellent. Marks: D (head and shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1865. Value Points: the bright blue eyes and plump cheeks contrast desirable pale bisque, the beautiful lady wears fine original muslin gown with lace and silk ribbon trim.
