17" (43 cm.) Bisque socket head, very deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes with rich spiral threading, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, brushstroked brows, shaded nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with shaded outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette hand-tied human hair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent, original body and body finish. Marks: 7 EJ (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1882, earliest period of the EJ model. Value Points: stunningly beautiful bebe with splendid eyes, original body finish, fine antique costume (possibly original), and signed Jumeau shoes.
