Description
13" (33 cm.) x 13". A deeply-set boxed arrangement with gilt frame, protected under fine old glass displays, two wax dolls, man and woman, in an elaborately-arranged bower with flowers and birds created of traganth, shells and paper mache. The fantastical arrangement was created as a commemorative "valentine" for a notable occasion. Good condition, some typical age wear. Early 1800s, probably French.
