15" (38 cm.) x 13"h. x 5"d. Of warm-toned satinwood, the desk features a curved drop-front which opens to a fitted interior with five drawers having hand-painted garland designs, with single drawer and resting upon an unusual X-formed stretcher; the desk is accented with ebony edging and ball feet, while floral garlands and a sleeping cupid decorate the front. With ornate cast drawer pulls and two escutcheons with working key. England, late 19th/early 20th century.
