16" (41 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, bright blue enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, lightly-feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig, cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset jointing at elbows, hips and knees, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Aux Enfants Sage Passage Jouffroy (label on torso). Comments: French, circa 1870, the doll was presented in the prestige Parisian doll shop of Aux Enfants Sage. Value Points: brilliant eyes beautifully contrast the very delicate bisque, very sturdy original body, original wig with lush original curls.
