14" (36 cm.) Bisque socket head with white complexion with painted facial clown decorations, amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes, brown curvy brows, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, auburn mohair wig over cork pate, French paper mache body with jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: chip at back crown rim, some frailty to original silk of costume, otherwise excellent. Marks: R. 4 D. Comments: Rabery and Delphieu, circa 1890. Value Points: charming fellow with wonderfully-painted features, flawless complexion, factory original costume.
