10" (25 cm.) Of padded fabric over wire armature with well-defined details of face and fingers, the lady has painted facial features, closed mouth, and is wearing her original costume of ruby velvet with intricate beaded trim and edging over silk underskirt, lined silk brocade floor-length cape, dainty fitted slippers with black silk embroidery and pearl edging, fitted crepe cap with attached shawl, and elaborately beaded crown, matching jewelry box and necklace with colorful "gems". Condition: near mint. Marks: Dorothy Wendell Heizer (original sewn-in label). Comments: American artist, Dorothy Heizer, from a series of historic queens introduced in 1934, the doll represents Isabelle of Castile (1451-1501). Value Points: beautiful and intricately designed doll with most gentle expression, superbly designed and created costume, original artist stand.
