Bisque socket head with plumply modeled cheeks, blue glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner, rose blushed eye shadow, dark painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over Steiner pate, French composition fully-jointed body with bisque hands, wearing lovely silk costume with lace overlay, velvet bonnet, undergarments, leather shoes, stockings. Condition: generally excellent, two fingers re-glued. Marks: Figure C. No 7 Steiner Bte SGDG Paris (head) Le Petit Parisien Bte SGDG (body). J. Steiner (eyes). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1884. Value Points: exceptional size of the rare early model allowing for wonderful expression, enhanced by choicest bisque and painting, very rare bisque hands with separately sculpted fingers, original body and body finish, lovely antique costume.
