27" (69 cm.) Solid domed paper mache shoulderhead with oval face and elongated throat, black painted pate, black enamel eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes and brows, incised nostrils, closed mouth with accent line between the pale lips, brunette human hair wig in ringlet curls, modeled bosom, kid body with stitch-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, stitched and separated fingers, antique cotton gown of transfer design, undergarments, silk bonnet. Condition: generally excellent, some light craquelure. Comments: French, circa 1840, attributed to Andreas Voit. Value Points: especially compelling presence with original finish, modeled bosom, original body and costume.
