10" (25 cm.) Of padded fabric over wire armature with well-defined details of face and fingers, the lady has painted facial features, closed mouth, light brunette mohair wig and is wearing her original costume of multi-tiered ruffled gown of sheer organza with low bodice, blue silk ribbon bows, petticoats, fitted silk heeled slippers, wide-brimmed straw bonnet over clusters of flowers in her hair, and carrying a similar garland of flowers. Condition: near mint. Marks: Dorothy Wendell Heizer (original sewn-in label). Comments: American artist, Dorothy Heizer, from a series of historic queens introduced in 1934, the doll represents the beloved Empress Eugenie of France (1826-1920), inspired by her Winterhalter portrait. Value Points: outstanding doll in perfect state of preservation, includes original stand, and with exquisite details including black lace and flowers. Included is the original sketch of the doll by Dorothy Heizer.
