Description
6 1/2" (17 cm.) Solid domed bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque torso, bright blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes, outlined eyes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde mohair wig, peg-jointing at shoulders and hips, painted white stockings and peach ankle boots. Condition: generally excellent, small flake at top of right leg. Comments: for the French market, circa 1882, the dolls were described in Etrennes catalogs of the era as "poupees de poche" (pocket dolls). Value Points: very beautiful miniature doll with brilliant eyes, rare peach ankle boots, original muslin dress with lace trim.
