Description
6" (15 cm.) Porcelain shoulderhead with lightly tinted complexion, black sculpted hair drawn smoothly around sides of face and captured in coiled chignon at back of head, wooden body with defined waist, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, dowel-jointed porcelain lower limbs, red painted slippers, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1850, the hair style was inspired by the beloved Queen Victoria. Value Points: rare body on the early doll with original costume. Included is miniature book, Victoria, The Good Queen and Empress.
