20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head, painted facial features, large brown eyes with shaded details, black upper eyeliner, white eyedots, single stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth appearing as though open with painted row of teeth, smiling expression with shaded and accented lips, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, some typical wig pulls at rim and back of head. Marks: 151 S&H 2. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1910, from their very rare art character series. Value Points: so seldom found in this larger size, allowing for exceptional quality of sculpting with detail of dimples and laughter lines in cheeks and eye corners, original body and body finish, wonderful royal purple wool boy's suit, shirt, saddle shoes, velvet cap, and old celluloid pin with image of his teddy bear.
