All cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted facial features and rich ebony complexion, dark eyes with red upper eyeliner, fringed brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with full lips, sculpted ears, black fleecy wig, stitch-jointed body with bare feet, brown sateen torso cover, well costumed in antique dress, apron, cap, and undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Martha Chase, Pawtucket. Rhode Island, circa 1900. Value Points: rare model from the cottage industry dollmaker, this doll with distinctively modeled features, beautiful original complexion and artistic painting of features, very rare larger size.
