10" (25 cm.) Of padded fabric over wire armature with well-defined details of face and fingers, the lady has painted facial features, closed mouth, elaborate powdered-white mohair wig and is wearing her original costume of multi-tiered ruffled gown of lace over aqua silk with lace-edged rose brocade sides and back, having low-cut bodice, petticoats, pink brocade heeled shoes, brimmed silk bonnet with feathers, "diamond"-studded bracelets and necklace, and with arms modestly held in front of her bodice and clasping a bouquet of pink roses and blues. Condition: near mint. Marks: Dorothy Wendell Heizer (original sewn-in label). Comments: American artist, Dorothy Heizer, from a series of historic queens first introduced in 1934, the doll represents Marie Antoinette; included with the doll is a personal letter from Dorothy Heizer describing this doll as a "cheerful figure". Value Points: exceptional detail of costuming, pose and accessories, with original stand, in pristine condition, and with extra documentation.
