Description
16" (41 cm.) Seated upon a silk-ribbon-wrapped high stool is a bisque head doll with blue glass eyes, painted features, open mouth, blonde mohair wig, bisque forearms, with factory-original gold and apple-green jester costume and cap, holding paper accordion. Hidden inside the costume is a hollow candy container cylinder which is revealed when the torso is separated. Condition: generally excellent, some silk frailty on pant leg. Comments: for the French market, the jester was a presentation candy box in a prestige Parisian candy store, circa 1890. Value Points: rare novelty with luxury details including fringed stool decoration, fine satin fabrics.
