13" (33 cm.) Posed seated on the edge of a velvet covered music box which appears as a cushion is a bisque headed jester with brown glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, carton body in seated pose, wire upper arms, metal hands. When wound, music plays, and the jester turns his head side to side and plays the violin he holds in his arms. Condition: generally excellent, music and motion function well. Comments: Gustav Vichy, circa 1870. Value Points: charming salon piece, the jester wears original teal blue and gold jester suit and holds wooden violin, with original paper tune label on the underside.
