18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head with delicate pale complexion, rounded facial modeling, blue paperweight inset eyes with spiral threading, black eyeliner, short curled lashes, mauve-blushed eye shadow, arched feathered brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with pale outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with flat-cut derriere and straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 2 Sch (in shield, on head) Sch (in shield, stamp on derriere). Comments: Schmitt et Fils, circa 1880. Value Points: especially beautiful bebe with rich spiral threaded eyes contrasting the delicate complexion, original signed body, antique blue silk costume with lace trim.
