10" (25 cm.) Of padded fabric over wire armature with well-defined details of face and fingers, the man has painted facial features, closed mouth, very elaborate brown mohair wig in extended curls onto shoulders, wearing ivory satin tunic and pantaloons with frou-frou ribbons lace trim, leggings, under green velvet extended-length silk-lined cloak with "ermine" edging and wide collar; the cloak trimmed with tiny applied gilt and silver beading, and ivory silk slippers with bead buckles, carrying wooden scepter with bead trim, Condition: near mint. Marks: Dorothy Wendell Heizer (original sewn-in label). Comments: American artist, Dorothy Heizer, circa 1940s, portrait doll of King Louis XVI of France. Value Points: extraordinary detail of the velvet cape includes embroidered tips on "ermine" and exquisite beaded appliques of the royal fleur-de-lis.
