Description
11" (28 cm.) Bisque socket head, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes with darker blue iris rims, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with rich accent line between the lips, pierced ears, brunette human hair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Mascotte C. Comments: May Freres, circa 1890, the firm created their bebes for only two or three years before closing their doors, leading to their rarity today. Value Points: rare to find model in all-original condition and in wonderful petite size having original body and body finish, and wearing antique cashmere coat dress and lavishly trimmed silk bonnet.
