Description
11"h. x 20"w. x 23"d. The finely-grained wooden cabinet of walnut veneers has carved edging and trim on the lid, frontispiece, and base, a marquetry inlay on the lid, and the original image on the hinged inner lid. The music box plays 18 3/4" discs, and has a double-comb movement, with zither attachment, deeply recessed into the case. The original front-winding crank is included, as are 11 original discs. Overall excellent original condition. Germany, circa 1900, the Fortuna model was made by both Ernst Malke and F.H. Oberlander of Leipzeig.
