10" (25 cm.) Each is of padded fabric over wire armature with well-defined shaped and painted details of face and fingers, the lady with blonde mohair wig strictly pulled away from her face and captured in a pleated cap, wearing original emerald green silk gown with trapunto detail, green velvet floor-length sleeveless cloak, lace ruffled collar and cuffs, petticoat, black silk heeled shoes with pom-poms, and elaborate jewelry including necklace, bracelets and rings. The man is wearing a green velvet tunic over black leggings, with black silk slippers and "sugar loaf" shaped cap, with rich gilt bead appliques. Marks: Dorothy Wendell Heizer (original sewn-in label). Comments: American artist, Dorothy Heizer, early 1940s, according to the Helen Bullard book, Dorothy Heizer, the man depicts a XV century French count and the woman was inspired by a Franz Hals portrait of a XVII Dutch lady. Included is the original sketch of the costume by Dorothy Heizer.
