7" (18 cm.) and 9". Each is all-wooden with socket head, carved hair and painted facial features depicting the comic strip characters Maggie and Jiggs, wooden body with jointing at shoulders and hips, Maggie with carved topknot and long nose, painted yellow hair band, and painted black heeled shoes, wearing cotton yellow costume; and Jiggs with sculpted crown of hair, wooden cigar in mouth, black and white painted shoes, felt trousers and orange shirt. Depicted are Maggie and Jiggs from the "Bringing Up Father" comic strip of George McManus in 1913. Generally excellent. American, Schoenhut, circa 1920.
