25" (64 cm.) Bisque socket head with slender facial shape of adult woman, brown glass sleep eyes, dark painted lashes, dark curly lashes, thick brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth, accented lips, four porcelain teeth, pierced ears, antique hand-tied brunette human hair, composition fully-jointed lady body with unique sculpting, shapely bosom, waist and derriere, elongated limbs, large hips, hands and feet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: S&H dep 1159 11 (head) E.D.B La Patricienne Depose (body). Comments: Edmund Daspres, successor to the Jules Steiner firm, deposed the model in 1905, with distinctive lady body shape designed to accommodate fashions of that era; the Simon and Halbig head was commissioned for this doll. Value Points: beautiful and rare large lady doll with lovely bisque and expression, wonderfully sculpted body, antique embroidered folklore costume over original lingerie, hand-tooled leather ankle boots.
