Description
20" (51 cm.) Standing upon a velvet-covered base is a bisque swivel-head doll with bisque shoulderplate, blue glass paperweight eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, pierced ears, carton torso and legs, wire upper arms, bisque forearms, original gold silk festival dress with black lace and velvet accents, dangling gold coins, lace cap, holding tambourine and garland of bells. When wound, she turns her head side to side, alternately shaking the tambourine and waving the garland. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 4. Condition: generally excellent, original costume a tad dusty, mechanism and music function well. Comments: Leopold Lambert, circa 1890. Value Points: pretty wide-eyed girl with charming action, appropriate music, original costume.
