11" (28 cm.) Terra cotta shoulderhead of woman with brown sculpted hair drawn from her face and into flowing curls onto her shoulders, enamel eyes, closed mouth with smiling expression, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted shoes and stockings. Condition: generally excellent, very light touch-up on shoulders and hands. Comments: Neapolitan, mid-1700s. Value Points: unusual smiling expression, wearing original gown, apron, cap, and with chatelaine of metal keys, and carrying basket of waxed fruit.
