10" (25 cm.) and 18". The paper doll figures depict a curly-haired child and a beautiful lady, are "costumed" with attached fabric, lace, and paper in stylish model, the larger doll with enhancing garland of silk flowers and black lace mantilla. Very good condition. The dolls were inspired by an 1831 book "America Girls Book" by Miss Elisa Leslie in which she detailed a pleasurable past time of making these "Dancing Dolls". Circa 1880.
